Overwhelmed with Building Your WordPresss Website?
With MavroCreative’s Build Your Own Website Course you’ll design the website of your dreams AND get the support you need every step of the way.
Best of all, you don’t need to be a “techie” to get through it!
My Story & How I Can Help You
I’m Donna Mavromates, owner of MavroCreative. I’ve been designing WordPress websites for businesses of all shapes and sizes for the past 7 years. While I love everything design-related, I’m also passionate about helping fellow entrepreneurs realize their dreams.
I created the Build Your Own Website online course because it’s the kind of course that I wish I had when I needed a website for my business.
My first dip into the entrepreneurial pool was back in 2006, when I started a marketing consulting firm. At at the time, you needed to be a programmer to build something that looked half decent.
Flash forward to today where there are so many platforms available, with WordPress leading the charge.
I’ve designed over 100 WordPress sites and have found that most of my clients want to be empowered to edit their sites themselves. I LOVE to teach my clients how to edit and maintain their websites and I want to share that knowledge with you.
What You Get
“I LOVE Donna’s teaching style! It feels like I’m sitting down with a friend and learning something together; as if I’m being brought alongside someone who wants to make things easy and approachable and very much makes it that way!
MavroCreative’s Build Your Own Website Course is the perfect foundation for understanding and building a beautiful, well-functioning website. Not only was I able to build a website in the process, but I understand how everything works together and how to maximize WordPress to accomplish my business and website goals. This course will be a go-to resource for me anytime I want to reinvigorate an existing website, and definitely with more websites to come!”

Here’s Everything You’ll Learn
Module 1: The Basics
In this module, we start right at the very beginning, with an explanation about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org (yes….there’s a difference!!). We also review what a domain name is, as well as hosting, and will provide recommendations for how to purchase each. And if you purchase your domain name & hosting from two different providers, you’ll learn how to easily link the two together.
Module 2: The Plan
In many ways, this module can come first, even before you start to get into the nuts and bolts of the technical aspects of your site. Planning your website is such an important step but it’s one that a lot of people skip over. Taking the time to really think about what you want and need in your site will make the rest of the process so much easier. You’ll learn the steps to take to decide which content to include in your site, how to organize it, and why content trumps design every day of the week!
Module 3: Themes
In this module, we talk all about themes! You will learn what a theme is, how they work, what to look for when choosing a theme, and some of the best places to find themes. In addition, we review what “mobile responsiveness” means and why you need to know about it for your new website.
Module 4: Getting Started
In this module, you’ll learn how to install WordPress with your host provider, as well as on your desktop. This is a great way for you to “get your feet wet” with WordPress and create a site that is not visible to the world. You’ll also learn what the most important settings are in the WordPress Dashboard, the difference between posts and pages, and how to work with images on your site.
Module 5: Building Your Site
This is the most robust module in the course, and includes twelve (yup…12!) lessons on everything you need to know to build your amazing new WordPress site. We talk about widgets & plugins & shortcodes, how to install your theme, how to customize the home page and interior pages. You’ll also be introduced to your new BFF: the page builder. This tool will make designing your new site a breeze. You may have heard about CSS and we cover that in this module as well. Contact pages, calendars, blog posts and more are all covered in this beefy module!
Module 6: Website Maintenance
It may be least sexy part of the website design process, but it’s incredibly important! You’ll learn how to securely back up your site, how to migrate it (which simply means moving it from one place to another), and how to keep your site updated and maintained. You’ll also learn about Google Analytics as well as Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in this module so that all of your hard work will pay off and you’ll attract more visitors to your site!
The fun doesn’t stop there! Your bonus lessons include how to install fonts to make your site even more fabulous, basics of HTML so that you can impress your friends at the next cocktail party, and a special bonus lesson that walks you through how to setup an e-commerce storefront with WooCommerce!
Within each module you’ll find downloadable “cheat sheets” that add even more value to your learning. As new content is added throughout the lifetime of the course, you will always have access to it!
“I wanted to take this course to learn more about using WordPress, as I already had some knowledge. The lessons were laid out so that I was able to follow along and not feel overwhelmed. They were short lessons, but full of information, interesting and well thought out. I liked how I could always go back and re-watch a lesson if I needed to. I also liked how I could follow along while working on my site and pause the videos, do some work, then keep watching. I learned so much and was excited to watch my site come alive!
I now feel confident that I could build a website from the beginning!”

You’ll Never Have to Watch Another YouTube Video Again!
When it comes to WordPress, there’s no shortage of how-to videos online. The problem is that you need to “know what you don’t know” in order to find what you need and even then, the information is often conflicting and there’s no one to ask if you have questions.
Designing websites is what I do every day at MavroCreative. Our clients pay thousands (literally, $2,150 and up!) for us to design and build their WordPress website.
Wouldn’t it be great to have everything you needed in one place and have a roadmap that will take you step by step through the process?
I’m going to teach you how to do what we do successfully: how to plan for your site, how to make sure the images look great, how to create an amazing homepage, best practices for making sure that your site is safe and secure, how to edit and update your site, and more!
You can go at your own pace and you’ll have lifetime access to all of the content in the course.
Best of all, there are real, live people in our private Facebook community that you can reach out if you get stuck. And if you need extra coaching, with our VIP MavroCreative Bestie package I’m available for one-on-one training during the program as well.
