So, what’s the big deal with Privacy Policies and why do I have to be concerned about it?
We did an entire Facebook Live with Attorney Christy Westerfeld about GDPR that you can check out here.
The biggest misconception is that if you don’t do business with people in the EU, then you don’t need to worry about their rules and regulations. Which isn’t true.
The sheer fact that someone who resides in the EU can come and visit your website makes you have to comply with the rules.
That’s the question that I’ve been getting from many MavroCreative clients.
Before we dive in, I have a disclaimer: “I’m not an attorney and am not providing legal advice in my role as a web designer.”
I have a favorite attorney that I use for all of my online business legal documents: Attorney Christy Westerfeld. You can purchase individual templates or bundles of all of your legal docs by visiting her website here. (Full disclosure: I’m am affiliate for Christy which means I may receive a small amount of compensation for the referral. But I happen to think she’s one of the best out there for this stuff!)
The next best thing is to use the online generator that WordPress is now including with the latest release.
A word of caution: The generator produces a template for you to use but you will still need to review it and customize it for your business. And once you have the page created, you need to include it as a link in the footer of your website.
Until next time!
